Archbishop Dr John Sentamu’s Chief of Staff

14th November 2011: With Archbishop Dr Sentamu’s Chief of Staff

With Rev Malcolm Macnaughton

I visited the Church House, Westminster, where I had an historic meeting with Rev Malcolm Manaughton who is the Chief of Staff to Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu.  We discussed several issues of mutual spiritual and pastoral interest relating to plights of the former Child Wives in the UK and Ethiopia.

Rev Macnaughton has a very important role to play. He provides the Archbishop of York with the assistance he needs to conduct his ministry within the life of the British nation, the Church of England, the Anglican Communion, and the Province of York. He supports the Archbishop in his public ministry, helping him to keep abreast of political and social developments, and to be well briefed through his staff to speak for the gospel and for the church. He liaises with advisers at Church House, Westminster and at Lambeth palace.
